Bobi Wine, born Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu on February 12, 1982, in Nkozi, Uganda, grew up in a humble background, raised by his mother, a midwife at Nkozi Hospital. He spent his childhood in the Kamwokya slum in Kampala, Uganda's capital city. Bobi Wine studied music, dance, and drama at Makerere University, graduating with a diploma in 2003. He later earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from Cavendish University in 2024 ¹.


Music Career

Bobi Wine's music career took off in the early 2000s, blending traditional Ugandan music with modern styles. His breakthrough songs include "Akagoma," "Funtula," and "Sunda."
